Kowa Genesis-22 8x22mm Prominar XD Binoculars [KWGEN822]
Model incorporating
The Genesis Series incorporates Kowa's “PROMINAR” lenses. To attain the highest pinnacle of binocular performance, a total of 4 XD lenses (2 sets of 2 lenses) are utilized in the objective end of the binoculars.
This significantly reduces chromatic aberration and provides high contrast in the field of view.
C3 Coating
Kowa's roof prism binoculars use a Schmidt-Pechan prism. One surface of the Pechan prism does not provide total reflection, so a highly reflective C3 coating has been applied. This allows for higher reflectivity than with silver or optically enhanced aluminum which offers a 99% or higher reflectance across the entire visible spectrum (400-700nm). This not only provides bright and sharp images but also accurate color reproduction.
Newly utilized Kowa's “KR Coating” allows for easy maintenance
Kowa's KR coating protects the lenses from dirt and other foreign residue that may affix to the lenses during normal use. Even in cases where the lens is accidentally touched, fingerprints or oil can easily be removed through proper lens cleaning methods.
Waterproof structure filled with WP dry nitrogen gas
The housing is waterproof and filled with nitrogen gas which prevents internal fogging.
**Not intended for underwater use.
High Refractive Index Prism
The prism system of the Genesis/XD44 delivers a wide field of view and edge to edge sharpness with minimal loss of light. This high refractive roof prism (Bak4 + SK15) offers near total reflectance and when combined with Kowa's proprietary C3 coating, delivers the clearest and sharpest image.
Magnesium Alloy Body
A magnesium alloy body is formed using advanced thixomolding technology.
Advanced thixomolding technology provides the benefits of a high strength metal body but in a lightweight magnesium alloy structure.
The durability and reliability of these binoculars can withstand the most severe conditions which provide users the greatest degree of confidence.
Close Focus
Ideal for observation of plants, insects, and other objects within close range.
Filter Threads on the Objective Barrels
Filters can be attached in front of the objective lenses.(Filter Size: 46 mm).
Phase-Coated Roof Prism
The prism is phase-coated to ensure sharp images and outstanding contrast.
Diopter Lock
The diopter control is equipped with a locking mechanism that keeps the diopter from accidentally being changed.
