  1. Good for the money review by Robert on 1/04/18

Have had the 20-50x50 scope for a few months now. Features that impressed me were:
The general build quality: although I believe the inner housing is made of plastic it is covered in tough good looking rubber. I have dropped it on to a hard floor and it faired well. Integrated objective lens cover is great but have already lost the little ocular cover. The gunbarrel type sight on top of the body works well for lining it up too.
Portability: I use it with a tripod but on its own is fairly lightweight and easy to stash
Optics: Okay I mainly use it in the 20-30x zoom range, and If you can deal with the very small exit pupil it gives a decent image. Eye relief on the ocular is non-existent just as it looks in the pictures.

Features that I found so-so were:
Optics: Once over 30x zoom (up to 50) the image loses a lot of its brightness, exit pupil shrinks even more, and fades into a dull yellowy haze. The scope is much suited to bright daylight observing rather than astronomy work however it gives a great picture of a bright full moon even up to 50x. I suspect the coatings and prisms are not up to the std of more expensive Jap / other scopes then again.. the price.
Stability: I cant even use it without a tripod - the image is just too shaky. I need to get a fluid tripod head to fully take advantage of it. The pistol grip type is kind of jerky.

Overall I am impressed with the Yukon 20-50x50 and love peering through it at anything that moves in the distance. Its easy to throw in the car or a backpack. I would buy it again. Now I am quite interested in the other Yukon products.
