This Zeiss Distagon T* 1.4/35 ZF.2 35mm f/1.4 Lens For Nikon creates fascinating images as a result of its distinctive, harmonious bokeh in the out-of-focus areas. For creative, high quality images - even wide open.
This Zeiss Distagon T 35mm F/1.4 ZF.2 Lens for Nikon F Mount continues the 120-year-old Zeiss tradition of optically superb lenses that are built to last--this very fast wide-angle 35mm lens offers all the traditional advantages of Zeiss optics: precise manual focusing with a large rotation angle, unparalleled control of glare and stray light to ensure brilliant images every time, an almost circular aperture that delivers a harmonious bokeh (the difficult-to-define quality in out-of-focus areas that's pleasing to the eye), and robust all-metal precision construction. And it's all at the service of Nikon cameras with an F mount. As with all Zeiss ZF.2 lenses, this lens comes equipped with AI-aperture coupling and CPU
Very fast f/1.4 lens for low light and for impressive bokeh effects
Precise focusing mechanism with a large rotation angle--operating a lens manually means controlling the picture with your fingertips. Ergonomics are everything.
Optimum control of glare and stray light ensures brilliant images--Zeiss lenses are famous for the exceptional quality of the pictures they provide. No matter how demanding the subject, perspectives, colors, and lighting situations are reproduced perfectly - over the entire full-frame image field.
The almost circular aperture enables a harmonious bokeh in out-of-focus areas--the finely matched properties of the aperture ensure that the effects of out-of-focus areas of the picture are attractively balanced (bokeh).

Focus your creativity
Details matter. In fact, it is usually one decisive detail that generates a specific mood, emotion or expression in an image. As a photographer, you know how to draw focus to single elements and use depth of field to make details shine. And you know how to use them for maximum effect - with the Distagon T* 1,4/35. The use of sharp contrast and soft focus guides our eyes to the areas that you want to highlight. With the Distagon T* 1,4/35, you can create enchanting images thanks to its unique combination of a wide angle of view with a shallow depth of field. It is a master of light and color at both ends of the spectrum. Precise when in focus, this lens also creates fascinating images as a result of its distinctive, harmonious bokeh in the out-of-focus areas. For creative, high quality images – even wide open.
When wide angle views go to extremes and beg the control via an SLR viewfinder, which means that the back focal distance has to be much larger than the focal length, a retrofous design called Distagon is the right choice.
Precise manual focus
Manually focusing a lens means controlling the image result from your fingertips. A good ergonomic design makes all the difference. Zeiss SLR lenses stand out with their large rotation angle which enables precise focusing. Changes are immediately visible in the viewfinder. The high-quality focusing mechanism moves smoothly without play, thus also supporting the intuitive interaction with the focal plane. The precise engraving in meter and feet, and the depth of focus scale provide additional support for manually focusing.
Excellent image quality
The Zeiss range of T* lenses offers the highest possible standards in terms of performance, reliability and, of course, image quality. Quite simply, they are superior in every way. You can count on highly advanced flare control for crisp and brilliant images, for example. And virtually zero geometric distortion, ensuring precise accuracy when reproducing shapes – especially useful when photographing products and architecture.
Floating Elements Design
State-of-the-art camera techniques and high-resolution digital image sensors increasingly demand more from the lenses. The modern floating element design compensates aberrations of the Zeiss SLR lenses at different distance settings. This is accomplished by changing the axial distance of single lens elements or element groups to each other. The adjustment of the element distance is coupled to the distance setting so that it always results in the right correction. The mechanical design of these lens elements is very complex and the workmanship must be particularly exact – both specialties of Zeiss.
Virtually distortion-free optics
Dramatic perspectives and a view from extraordinary image angles – SLR lenses from Zeiss open up new composition possibilities. Distortion would disrupt the composition because straight lines, whose image does not go through the image center, would be reproduced with a curved shape. This annoying effect is accordingly and largely compensated through elaborate optical designs at all focal lengths.
High-quality all metal mounts
Noticeable quality and high value stability qualify ZEISS lenses for decades of intense use. The high-quality craftsmanship of the all-metal mounts, the easy-to-grip metal focus and aperture ring and the robust front bayonet and filter threads ensure an amazing photographic experience.
